Attending College in the 1960s

In the 1960s the post-war baby boomers were becoming teenagers and young adults. According to the Kingwood College LIbrary "an estimated 850,000 war baby freshman entered college" and "emergency living quarters are set up in dorm lounges, hotels, and trailers." College campuses became places for the youth to express themselves against the government and their country. Scenes of protest and debates were the center of many colleges across the country. The cause of much of their distress was the fact that the men were of military draft age, however, the could not yet vote. (18 year-olds could not vote until 1971). Many tried to distance themselves from their upper middle-class parents and make a life on their own.

Energy

Energy is the ability to do work. There are many different types of energy including kinetic, potential, thermal, electromagnetic, chemical, nuclear, and mass. All natural phenomena have been defined by these different types of energy. The basic scientific principle of energy is that it can neither be created, nor destroyed, only converted from one form to another.

Energy in this day in age is a very important topic. Managing and controlling energy is essential to an industrialized world. It is needed for agriculture, communication, technology, and transportation. Toady energy and energy resources are used synonymously. Energy resources include fuels, petroleum, and electricity.

Today, however, the world's increase in the use of energy has some negative effects. These effects could potentially have serious effects on our world. Such problems include global warming.

What Constitutes Torture?

The legal definition of torture has always been a topic of great debate. In recent years, the definition has evolved to become more specific, appeasing the human rights groups, but not too specific for the government to use its discretion in certain situations.

In 1984, the United Nations Convention Against Torture defines torture as "any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing hi or a third person for any reason based on discrimination of any kind, when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity.

The United States Justice Department previous definition of torture was defined as "organ failure, impairment of bodily function, or even death" constitute torture punishable by law. However, this definition was too broad and gave the government a lot of wiggle room to interrogate suspects within the realm of the law. The new definition as defined by Section 2340A of Title 18, United States Code, is very similar to the one written out at the '84 United Nations Convention Against Torture.

ZetaTalk

A group of aliens known as the Zetas have prophesized the end of the world to be between May and June of 2003. According to their theory, Planet X will sweep through the universe and attack Earth. This attack will cause "violent winds, firestorms from the sky, and gigantic tidal waves." In addition, it will also cause the Earth to stop spinning for several days. After all of this chaos, the ice caps will melt and the world will become one giant ocean and all live will now be underwater. The Zetas have been nice enough to warn us of this catastrophic disaster as they have been keeping contact with humans, most notably Nancy Lieder, founder of the ZetaTalk Website, for some time now. The ZetaTalk website now defends there claim to an end of the world by saying it was part of their "white lie."

The Black Shuck

On the coast of Anglia in England roams a huge black beast, similar to that of a large dog, named the Black Shuck or Old Shuck. This carnivorous "hellhound" is said to have enormous glowing red eyes and long shaggy black hair. The legend of Black Shuck dates back to the Vikings where where he was seen roaming the Anglian countryside. An appearance by Black Shuck proves ill to the beholder, though just seeing him does not mean death.

The most famous siting of Black Shuck was on August 4, 1577 at the church of Bungay in Scuffolk. The dog burst through the back door of the church killing a man and his son. Upon leaving, Black Shuck left burn marks from his red eyes on the back door, which can still be seen today. Reverend Abraham Fleming (1577) gives his account of that day:

"This black dog, or the divel in such a linenesse (God hee knoweth al who worketh all,) runing all along down the body of the church with great swiftnesse, and incredible haste, among the people, in a visible fourm and shape, passed between two persons, as they were kneeling uppon their knees, and occupied in prayer as it seemed, wrung the necks of them bothe at one instant clene backward, in somuch that even at a mome[n]t where they kneeled, they stra[n]gely dyed."

How to Dedicate your Soul to Satan

So I came across this fantastic website called the Joy of Satan, which is a site dedicated to the worship of Satan. It provides many insightful pieces of wisdom on Satanism such as its origins, Satan's sermons, exposing Christianity, joining Hell's Army, and of course how to dedicate your soul to Satan.

This process begins with a very personal formal ritual. The site gives you a list of necessary items to preform this ritual including one or more black, blue, or red candles, a sterilized razor or needle, a piece of clean paper, and a dry pen. The first step is to copy the prayer down on your piece of paper. The prayer is as follows:

"Before the almighty and ineffable God Satan/Lucifer and in the presence of all Demons of Hell, who are the True and the Original gods, I, (state your full name) renounce any and all past allegiances. I renounce the false Judeo/Christian god Jehova, I renounce his vile and worthless son Jesus Christ, I renounce his foul, odious, and rotten holy spirit. I proclaim Satan Lucifer as my one and only God. I promise to recognize and honor him in all things, without reservation, desiring in return, his manifold assistance in the successful completion of my endeavors."


After writing down the prayer, the person needs to bathe, as a sign of respect. Then, light your candles. Now take your needle or razor and cut your left index finger. Sign your name in blood at the bottom of the prayer. Finally recite the prayer aloud, fold the paper and let it burn in the candles. Now many stay on until the candles go out to meditate, but this is not mandatory. Before leaving say the words, "so mote it be" and "Hail Satan!"

Flesh Eating Bananas! ahh!

A recent internet chain letter claimed that the bananas imported from Costa Rica have been infected with a flesh eating bacteria known as necrotizing fasciiti. The letter claims that this disease is able to "graft" itself into the fruits of this region, specifically bananas. The local monkey population has been destroyed by this terrible epidemic.

The warning goes on to say that you should not buy bananas for the next two to three weeks to allow the CDC to recall all infected bananas and get this situation under control. If you have eaten a banana in the past two days and have come down with a fever or skin infection seek medical attention immediately. They also provide do-it-yourself care if you live more than an hour away from a hospital: burn your skin ahead of the infection to prevent spreading. Oh and this was issued by the Manheim Research Institute, Center for Disease Control in Atlanta Georgia.
